TWO RUNS FOR THE DAY

Friday, November 7th - Just after 0800 hours the Squad Company was alert to assist the public in the unit blk of Spring Ave for a dewatering. Squad 61 proceeded with 3 volunteers to the incident and found a broken water pipe in the basement and securred the same for the resident. Living up to our motto, "We Do It All". The squad returned to service in about 15 minutes. Then just after the lunch the volunteers were on the street for bells at the Big Lots complex in the 100 blk of the White Horse Pk. The Engine and Truck responded with 6 volunteers. Engine 61 arrived reporting workman on locations and returned the assignment. After a thorough investigation the engine returned to serivce.

THREE AT ONCE

Sunday, November 2nd - Shortly after 1800 hours a 631 box was struck for the 600 blk of the White Horse Pk. at the Oak Ridge Apts.. The calling party was reporting a fire in the wall behind the stove. Truck 61 took in the run with 6 volunteers. As the truck was running down the Pike, communications advised an additional assignment was coming in.  This time in the 200 blk of the White Horse Pk. at the Clementon Norse Apts. once again in the Charlie building for bells. Engine 61 and Sqaud 61 hit the street for this run with 9 volunteers. Engine 61 arrived, established command and sent the crew forward to investigate. As Squad 61 was arriving and taking the third due engines position, communication requested a company for a run in Pine Hill. Squad 61 got the call and headed out across town for the run at the Mansion Apts on Branch Ave.  the squad was on the assist for a pedestrian motor vehicle accident. As Squad 61 was turning onto Branch Ave. Squad 62 mustered a crew and 620 (Chief Wright) placed Squad 61 in service, almost made it.

BELLS AGAIN

Sunday, November 2nd - Just as the members were finishing up lunch with there families we were off the the 200 blk of the White Horse Pk again. Once again the bells were activated for the Clementon Norse Apts. this time for the Charlie building. Engine 61 and Tower Ladder 61 responded with 10 volunteers. Engine 61 arrived and attempted to determine the reason for the activation. This time the crews actually found a reason for the activation, over cooking. Command placed the assignment in service after the bells were reset.

BELOW GRADE RESCUE

Sunday, November 2nd - The day was off to a great start with Engine 61 being alerted for an EMS assist at 0115 hours. Engine 61 w/5 volunteers responded to the unit blk of Oak Ln. to assist BLS 63 with a below grade rescue. Engine 61 arrived and assisted the EMS crew with bringing a trauma patient up an embank after falling and getting them loaded into the BLS unit. The engine returned to service in about 15 minutes.

SLOW DAY FOR THE VOLUNTEERS

Saturday, November 1st - Around 0845 Engine 61 was sent to the unit blk of Gibbsboro Rd for bells. Engine 61 w/5 volunteers arrived reporting a 2 story mfd with nothing showing. The engine crew determined the activation was caused by overcooking and the engine returned to service in about 15 minutes.   

HALLOWEEN BRINGS THREE RUNS

Friday, October 31st the day started just after 0300 hours for the Clementon Volunteers when Engine 61 was dispathed to the unit block of Scott Ave to assist a citizen with a broken water pipe. The Engine 61 w/4 volunteers arrived on location and determined the break to be on the ecterior of the dwelling a CPW was notified. The engine returned to service in about 35 minutes. Then during the height of trick or treat time a 611 box was struck for Davis Ave & Erial Rd for a dwelling. Engine and Squad 61 responded w/ 8 volunteers. Engine 61 arrived in the area and reported a resident untilizing a smoke machine to enhance there Halloween display and placed all companies in service. Just as the company was returning from the dwelling box a 631 box was struck for the 600 blk of Emerson Ave at the Lindenwold Towers for a reported apartment fire. this time it was Tower Ladder 61's turn to put some rubber on the street. Ladder 61 responded with 5 volunteers and assumed the first due truck responsibilities. 6304 (B. Delucca) arrived and established command. Squirt 63 arrived and was ordered to search for source of the burning odor. The Squirt's crew narrowed the smeel down to a portable heater on  the number 2 floor. Command reduced the assignment to 1 and 1. The truck return to service around 1905 hours.  

ANOTHER TWO RUN DAY

Tuesday, October 28th - Just as the volunteers were sitting down to dinner with there families, the Squad was alerted for a CO detector activation in the unit block of Point Breeze Ave. Squad 61 responded with 3 volunteers. Squad 61 arrived to find the residents on the exterior of the dwelling. The crew went to work monitoring the dwelling for CO. The squad returned to service in about 20 minutes after checking the entire residence. Later in the evening the Company 61 and Ladder 63 were sent to the 100 block of the White Horse Pk at the Big Lots complex for bells. Engine 61 responded with 3 volunteers. Upon arrival the engone company had nothing in evidence. After an investigation the companies determined an alarm malfunction and returned to service just before 2300 hours.   

TWO RUN DAY

Saturday, October 25th - The volunteers had an early start for the day, just after 0730 hours Squad 61, BLS 63 and Medic 41 were alerted for a crash Berlin Rd and White Horse Ave. The calling party was reporting a vehicle overturned, off the roadway and into a fence. Squad 61 responded with 4 volunteers. 6103 (AC Cipriano) arrived shortly after BLS 63 confirming the report and all occupants were out of the vehicle. Command the squad company secure the vehicle and midigate any other hazards. Squad 61 returned to service in just under an hour. Just after the lunch the Engine 61 w/ 5  volunteers responded to Walnut and Tomlinson Ave. for wires arcing in a tree. The engine arrived and reported no need for the fire department and returned to service

SQUAD RUNS CRASH

Thursday, October 23rd - Just before 0730 Squad 61 was sent to the White Horse Pk & Gibbsboro Rd for another crash. Sqaud 61 arrived to find a car into a telephone pole. Squad 61's crews wetn to work handling the highway hazard and stood-by until the tow company removed the vehicle. Squad 61 returned to service around 0750 hours.

7 RUNS IN 24 HOURS FOR THE CLEMENTON VOLUNTEERS

Wednesday, October 22nd - The day started very earlier for the Clementon Volunteers.  Just before 0100 hours the the volunteers were on the street for wires.  Engine 61 responded w/5 volunteers. Engine 61 and AC Cipriano arrived in the area to reporting a power outage. The engine company investigated the area and found a large tree branch had fallen in the street bringing down the powerline. The engine remained on location approximately 30 minutes until ACE secured the line. Then just before 1100 hours Squad 61 w/4 volunteers and BLS 677 were alerted for a crash at the White Horse Pk and Gibbsboro Rd. Squad 61 and BLS 677 arrived to find a 3 vehicle accident with one person suffering from a minor head injury. Ac Cipriano had Squad 61's crew go to work on securring the vehicles and midigating the highway hazards.  The squad returned to service around 1130 hours. After the Squad had returned from the MVA, 6103 AC Cipriano reported a local for a drive up unresponsive juvenile. BLS 677 & Medic 46 responded to the station for the incident. The company returned to service about 15 minutes later.As lunch time was approaching the volunteers hit the street again. This time for bells in the 100 blk of the White Horse Pk. @ Always Tatoos. Engine 61 w/3 volunteers and Squirt 63 responded to the incident and determined a malfunction of the alarm and command placed the companies in service moments later. As the volunteers were finishing their late lunch, the Engine was dispatched to the unit blk of Spruce Ln. for wires. Engine 61 w/3 volunteers responded to the area and found another large tree down which had been pushed over by the sustained winds of the day. The engine securred the area until ACE was able to restore the power. As the evening settled in a box was struck for the 2000 blk of the White Horse Pk at the Belmont Apts in Lindenwold putting Tower Ladder 61 on the street this time. Tower Ladder 61 responded w/5 volunteers. 6304 AC B. DeLucca arrived to a 3 story MFD with nothing showing. Shortly after 6304 established command PD reported smoke in the building and the bells were off. Squirt 63 arrived and began the investigation. The seat of the fire was rubbish in one of the apartments and command reduced the assignment to Squirt 63. Just as we thought it was safe to retiree for the eveing Camden COunty Communication struck a Task Force 61 box, for the unit blk of Trowbridge Ln in Clementon. Engine 61 & Tower Ladder 61 responded w/9 volunteers. 6101 (Chief Busch) arrived to find a 2 story end of the row townhouse with nothing showing. Engine 61 & Squirt 63 arrived and command put them to worchecking for the source of the smoke. As the companies investigated the smoke bagan to discipate and command reduced the assignment to 2 & 1. Engine 61 retunred to serivce just after 2330 hours.

SQUAD RUNS 63 PIN JOB

Tuesday, October 7th - Approximately 1515 hours the Squad was on the street headed for United States Ave & Egg Harbor Rd in Lindwenwold for an MVA with one pinned. Reports coming into the Communications Center reported a 3 vehicle accident with one overturned and a baby pinned in the vehicle. Squad 61 responded with 3 volunteers along with Squad 63. Squad 63 arrived reporting a 3 vehicle with one possibly pinned. Squad 61 and Capt. Dimitri arrived and assisted Lindenwold with securing the vehicles. After a thorough investigation of the accident scene, it was determined no one was pinned. Squad 61 returned to service around 1530 hours.   

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK VISITS

Tuesday, October 7th - Today the Clementon Volunteers mustered for our annual trek to the schools and daycare centers to  educate the children of our community about fire safety. This year a young lady named Blondie stole the show. We were fortunate enough that the Camden County Fire Marshal's Office allowed us to have Deputy Chief Jay Houck and his partner Blondie joint us this year. Blondie is a Federally Certified Excellerant Detection Dog. Chief Houck put on demonstration for all the children on how Blondie operates on a fire scene, and of course she got 100 on all her tests. This made the school children jealious. Thanks to all the volunteers who came out to help with the program.

TRUCK RUNS A 63 BOX

Sunday, October 5th - Just after 1600 hours the truck was sent on a box in Lindenwold. The fire was reported in the 400 blk of Gibbsboro Rd at the Coachman Apts. The calling party was reporting an electrical fire in the wall near the front entrance way. Ladder 61 responded with 5 volunteers. PD arrived and reported medium smoke around the front door. Squirt 63 arrived and started investigating for the source of the smoke. Ladder 61 arrived and was given utlities, Squirt 63 narrowed the source of the smoke to the wall around the doorway and the assignment was scaled back to 2 & 1 to complete the investigation. The truck returned to service about 30 minutes later.  

SQUAD RUNS CO ALARM

Wednesday, October 1st -  Around 1900 hours the Sqaud was alerted for a carbon monoxide alarm activation in the 100 blk of Ohio Ave. The Squad responded with 5 volunteers. 6101 (Chief Busch) arrived and was being waved in. When the Squad  and AC Cipriano arrived command had the company investigate the interior for possible sources of CO. The company checked the interior of the dwelling and came up negative. The squad returned to service in about 20 minutes.  

TWO RUNS FOR THE DAY

Sunday, September 28th - Just after 0100 the volunteers wee alerted for an investigation in the unit blk of Dunwoody Ave. Engine 61 responded with 4 volunteers. 6105 (Capt. Dimitri) arrived and found a pile of rubbish extinguished on the porch. Engine 61 arrived and command had them overhaul the area. the engine returned to a short time later. Later in the day just before dinner the Truck was on the street for a Lindenwold box. thsi time the fire was reported in the 500 blk of Bilper Ave at the Pines Apt. Complex. Communications was reporting the calling party's apartment was filling up with smoke from an unknown source. Ladder 61 responded with 5 volunteers. Squad 63 arrived reporting nothing showing. Ladder 61 arrived and assisted the Squad Company with the investigation which turned out to be overcooking. Command reduced the assignement to 1 and 1. Ladder 61 returned to service about 10 minutes later.

FOUR RUNS FOR THE VOLUNTEERS

Friday, Spetember 19th - Just after midnight the Squad was alerted to assist EMS with forceable entry in the unit blk of Rancocas Ave. Police arrived, forced enrty and the Squad was placed inserivce. Later in the morning around 0800 hours a box was struck, sending the truck to the 1600 blk of Laurel Rd in Lindenwold @ the Chadwyck Apts. The calling party from the Charlie building was reporting the apartment filling with smoke and the bells were activated. Tower Ladder 61 responded with 4 volunteers to the box. 6002 (DC Winters) arrived in the complex and reported nothing showing. After an investigation by the first engine and special service, command reduced the assignment to the first due. Ladder 61 retuned to service about 20 minutes later. Just as the volunteers were finishing up dinner with their families the company was dispatched to the 200 blk of the White Horse Pk at the Clementon Norse Apts. for bells. Engine 61 and Tower Ladder 61 responded with 9 volunteers. The engine & the truck arrived in minutes and reported nothing showing from the 2 story garden type apartment. The engine and the truck handled the investigation and the rest of the companies were returned to service. The companies determined a malicious false alarm and returned to service about 15 minutes. Then around 2145 hours the voluteers were back on the street, this time for a box in Lindenwold. The fire was reported in the 500 blk of the White Horse Pk at the McDonald's. Tower Ladder 61 responded with 5 volunteers. PD arrived and reported visible fire in the grill area. 6302 (DC F. DeLucca) arrived and reported the building being evacuated. Shortly after arriving command placed the assignment under control and reduced the assignment to the first due engine. Ladder 61 returned to servce about 10 miuntes later.  

SQUAD RUNS PINE HILL RELOCATE

Tuesday, August 26th - Just after 1600 hours the engine was alerted for a cover assignment in Pine Hill. Pine Hill and other companies from the area were operating on an apartment fire in the 800 blk of Blackwood Clementon Rd. Before the engine could respond, a serious motor vehicle accident was reported in the unit blk of E. Branch Ave. in Pine Hill. Communications was reporting a vehicle vs. motorcycle with one down. The officer of the engine quickly switched the crew from the engine to the squad and responded with 5 volunteers advising Communications of same. Squad 61 was advised to disregard the relocate and take in the accident along with BLS 805 Medic 46. Communications also advised Southstar was placed on standby. Squad 61 and 6104 (Capt. Bishop) arrived right behind BLS 805 to find a two vehicle accident with one seriously injured. The squad assessed the scene and began to control fluids, securing the vehicles and assisting EMS with packaging the patient.  Medic 46 completed their patient assessment and requested a fly for Southstar. Due to the proximity of the other companies in the area, squad 61 quickly completed their assignements on the accident scene  and took in the LZ at the Overbrook High school on Turnersville Rd. EMS completed packaging the patient and transported them to the LZ. The patient was transferred to Southstar and the Squad Company returned to service in about 30 minutes. With a limited number of rescue companies in the area, Communications sent Squad 61 back to the relocate. The squad went in service from the relocate around 1800 hours.  

 TWO FOR THE DAY

Monday, August 25th - Around 1930 hours the volunteers were alerted for a standby. The company was placed on standby while the police operated in the 200 blk of thr White Horse Pk. for a subject allegedly barricaded in their apartment. During the incident the volunteers staffed the engine, squad & truck. During the standby Engine 61 with 5 volunteers responded to the unit blk of Cooper Ave. for an outside fire. Engine 61 & 6105 (Capt. Dimitri) arrived to find a fire in the rear yard which the "can-man" handled and the engine returned to service. Shortly after the engine returned from the run communications advised the fire group commander the police had the scene secure and the company could return to service. 

SQUAD RUNS VEHICLE FIRE

Monday, August 18th - Around 0930 hours Squad 61 was dispatched to the 100 blk of the White Horse Pk for a vehicle fire.  Squad 61 went with 4 volunteers.  The Squad & OIC Freiling arrived with a vehicle off in the rear yard and went to work with the bumper 1 3/4 line. The Squad returned to service about 45 minutes later.

TRUCK HEADS EAST ON EXTRA ALARM

Sunday, August 17th - Around 0400 hours Waterford & Winslow Twp fire departments were dispatched to the unit blk of the White Horse Pk in Chesilhurst for bells. Within about five minutes the bells were upgraded to the box. The establishment was now reporting a kitchen fire. Engine 258 arrived and reported heavy smoke showing from a one story restaurant.  Tower Ladder 61 (w/6 volunteers) was specialed as the FAST truck on the second alarm. Tower Ladder 61 & 6104 (Capt. Bishop) arrived and were assigned FAST duties on the Delta side of the building. Command placed the fire just after 0500 hours. Tower Ladder 61 returned to service shortly after 0600 hours.

 ENGINE SPECIALED ON AN 85 BOX

Thursday, August 14th - Just before 0600 Camden County Communications struck a Task Force 853 box, reporting a house fire in the unit blk of Sherri Ln.  Squad 86 arrived and reported a working fire in a two story dwelling and struck the all hands.  Around 0610 hours Engine 61 (w/4 volunteers) started on the move-up to Station 86. As the Engine Company was signing on they were special called into the job. Engine 61 arrived and went to work on division two opening up and knocking down pockets of fire which were found while completing the overhaul of the second floor. The engine returned to service just after 0800 hours.

TWO FOR THE DAY

Tuesday, August 12th - Just after 1830 hours the Task Force was alerted for an apartment fire in the 800 blk of Brand Ave. The calling party was reporting a kitchen fire. 6101 (Chief Busch) arrived within miuntes reporting a 2 story middle of the row garden style apartment with nothing showing. Squad 61 arrived shortly after the chief and began to investigate. The Squad reported a stove fire contained to the appliance.  Command reduced the assignment to 1 and 1. The Squad returned to service about an hour later. Just as the Squad was clearing the box on Brand Ave, Communications dispatched them to the unit blk of Garfield Ave to investigate the alarm. The Squad found a faulty detector and returned to service 15 minutes later.
